Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the professional alienation levels and professional motivation levels of classroom teachers. The relational screening model was found to be appropriate in the study. The study group of the research consists of 196 teachers working in primary schools in Bolu city center in the 2021-2022 academic year. The measurement tools were applied to the classroom teachers who were actually working in the primary schools in the city center of Bolu, which were allowed by the Directorate of National Education. "Work Alienation Scale" and "Job Motivation Scale" were used as data collection tools in the research. Whether the sample was normally distributed or not was tested with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, since the number of participants was more than 50. Since the distribution was not normal, non-parametric tests were used in the analysis. Mann Whitney U test to determine whether teachers' professional alienation and professional motivation levels differ according to gender; Kruskal Wallis test was applied to determine whether it differs according to seniority and tenure at the current school. In order to determine the relationship between the professional alienation levels of classroom teachers and professional motivation, Pearson simple linear correlation analysis was performed because it did not show a normal distribution, and Spearman Brown correlation coefficient was checked because the distribution was not normal. As a result of the research, it was seen that the professional alienation of the classroom teachers was low and their professional motivation was high. In addition, there is no significant difference between the levels of professional alienation and professional motivation of classroom teachers according to gender, the level of professional alienation differs significantly according to the variable of seniority and tenure at the current school, the level of professional motivation does not differ according to the variable of seniority and tenure at the current school. It has been observed that there is a negative, moderate and significant relationship between motivation levels. KEYWORDS: Professional alienation, professional motivation, classroom teacher
