Investigate the relationship between the reflevtive thinging tendency and anxiety level among class teachers

The aim of the present study is to investigate the relationship between the reflective thinking tendency and anxiety level among class teachers. The study has the following parts: Introduction, literature review, research method, findings and results, discussion and recommendations.In the research ?scanning model? was used. 101 female and 45 male teachers teaching in both state and private schools in Üsküdar in İstanbul participated in the study by answering the questions in Reflective Thinking Scale and Anxiety Scale.The statistical analysis of the data was made by using the SPSS programme through Independent Samples T-test, One-Way Anova, Mann Whitney-U, Kruskal Wallis-H, Post Hoc LSD, and Product Moment Correlation Coefficient tests. Expressiveness was tested on the 0,05 level.Effects of gender, age, branch, type of school, experience, following the publications, graduation characteristics on reflective thinking and anxiety level were determined in the study.According to the results of the study, participants got the highest point from ?questioning and effective teaching? and the lowest point from ?constant and intentional thinking? among the sub-dimensions of reflective thinking.Also, it is determined that female teachers have more tendency to think reflectively than male teachers and class teachers have more tendency to think reflectively than branch teachers.Some of the sub-dimensions of type of school, experience and following the publications have meaningful differences.It is found that variables of teachers have no effect on their anxiety levels.According to the results on the relationship between reflective thinking and anxiety level, there is a negative correlation between anxiety and reflective thinking in terms of ?open mindedness, responsibility of teaching and being scientific, inquisitiveness, being visionary and sincere?.Key Words: Reflective thinking, Anxiety level
