Abstract (EN)

The meaning of tawbah is repentance from sins by showing regret and remorse for the error one has got involved in. It also means waking up and renewing, feeling regret and filling with remorse for his or her sins turning to Allah with the intention of obeying Him. Tawbah Nasuh is servant's tawbah that means a pure, sincere repentance that perfectly reforms and improves the one who feels it. Allah encourages people to turn back in repentance while not insisting on sins and thus they get rid of the torment in both this life and afterlife. And also Holy Prophet (pbuh) advises Tawbah to his ummah as the way of being away from sins. Sufis make different comments on tawbah as well. Ghazali like the other Sufis states that sins make the heart ill, ill heart makes the man wrongdoer but tawbah by doing perfectly cleans him and thus Allah forgives him. Ghazali explains the reasons of sins and as a solution he advises especially learning and patience. Key words: Tawbah, sin, Taswwuf (sufism), Ghazali, The book kitab al-tawbah.
