Abstract (EN)

The most common medium among mass media is television. Despite the prevalence of new media, television continues to be influential on the individual. With the advent of the internet, people have focused more on electronic devices such as phones and computers. Watching television fort, the most part has become boring to the profile of the social networks on which almost all television shows are broadcast. More and more, new things are emerging, such as web TV, which allows you to be informed, educated and entertained at the same time. All these elements contribute to influencing inequalities between the sexes, that is, between men and women, through advertisements, movies or series spread on various patforms such as television or netflix and others and contribute to the spread of these stereotypes. Man and woman cannot be equal on any level, but we can all do the same things, the only difference that exists between man and woman remains at the level of gender, which is natural. For this study is how the roles transferred to men and women by the society are represented by the characters in the İndian movies that are on the air during the most watched hours, how the gender roles are reproduced in this way and how the characteristics of the patriarchal social tructure are presented in the stories and characters of the movies. A pilot in the war Gunjan Saxena and Dangal films, which were screened on Netflix between 2016 and 2020, were chosen as a sample, enabling the reproduction of gender stereotypes through the characters and stories in the interior. Reveals how the representations of men and women are presented in films.
