Abstract (EN)

In our research, a telerehabilitation (TR) program was applied to patients diagnosed with primary knee osteoarthritis (OA) who underwent robotic unilateral total knee arthroplasty (TKA). While the control group was given a classical exercise program, the study group was given task-oriented training in addition to the program. The aim of the study is to examine the effect of task-oriented exercise training on pain, balance-coordination, quality of life, fear of falling, fear of movement, functional capacity, and physical activity. The treatment program to be applied to the participants was applied for 8 weeks, 3 times a week, accompanied by a physiotherapist, and the other days were applied individually by the participant. The participant used a continuous passive motion device (CPM) for 2 weeks to increase joint range of motion (ROM) and an intermittent pneumatic compression device for 1 week to help increase circulation. The evaluations were performed pre-operatively (pre-op), post-operatively on the 15th day, and post-operatively at the 8th week. Questionnaires used in the evaluation are International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form (UFAA-Short Form), Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), Oxford Knee Score, 2-minute walk test, Short form-36 (SF-36), Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale, Fall Efficacy Scale, Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Functional Reach Test (FRT) and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). The difference in UFAA-Short Form moderate, walking subscale and total score results was found to be statistically significant in favor of the study group. The results in all parameters of WOMAC, Oxford knee scale, VAS scale, and BBS scale showed statistical significance in both groups. In the FRT scale, a statistically significant change was seen in the study group. SF-36 physical function, physical-emotional role difficulty, social function and pain subparameters were found in the study and control groups; energy and mental health parameters showed statistically significant differences in the control group.
