The trial of juvenile delinquents in Turkish law

States attach great importance to the education and development processes of children in order to build a strong future. At this point, it is of great importance to provide children with the right education, a healthy environment and age-appropriate guidance. However, children are also involved in crime. Especially, juvenile delinquents become the subject of criminal proceedings due to various factors such as family, school and friends. In this study, the criminal proceedings of juvenile delinquents were examined, taking into account the current legislation provisions in Turkish Law. It is necessary to know the current legislation in order to fully implement the existing rules on juvenile delinquency and determine the aspects that can be improved. Of course, throughout the study, not only the trial procedures of children were mentioned, but also the regulations in international law regarding juvenile delinquency and approaches in comparative law were explained. Especially, as we observe the effects of the comparative law and Turkish Law, it will be understood more clearly that the principles about children are universal principles. In our study, the execution process about children was also included. Because it would be wrong to seek the solution only in the changes to be made in the investigation and prosecution phase in order to re-harmonize juvenile delinquents with the society. Therefore, with special regulations that will be developed in accordance with universal principles regarding juvenile delinquency, it will be ensured that the child is integrated into the society and stay away from crime.
