Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study to examine eating attitudes and to determine eating disorders of Turkey Women's 1st and 2nd Volleyball League athletes. A total of 236 professional volleyball players over the age 18 participated voluntarily in this study. Personal information form which includes physical, demographic, nutritional status information and Eating Attitude Test (EAT-40) were used as a data collection tool. In the analysis, it was found that 5.5% of athletes had eating attitude disorder. While there was a significant difference between "athletes who want to lose weight" and eating attitudes, no significant relationship was found between other variables and eating attitudes. As a result, it was found that eating attitude disorders were seen in the athletes participating in the study. Therefore nutrition statuses of all athletes, especially athletes who want to lose weight, are closely monitored and athletes with eating attitude disorder should be provided to regain their health with the cooperation of athlete, family, coaches and experts.
