Abstract (EN)

Petroleum has an undisputed importance in the world economy and politics. The increase in energy consumption due to the increase in world population and technological developments requires close attention to the developments and changes in the petroleum sector. For this reason the competitive structure of the Turkish Petroleum industry in the frame of the ?Five Forces Model? of Michael Porter is analyzed. First The effective factors in this sector, are explained. Next Balassa?s competitive advantage (RCA) index is calculated concerning all subordinate sectors and then with the help of Vollrath?s index , the comperative force was determined in terms of the total merchandise groups. Finally the evaluations are made on this test and the suggestions that increase the competative structure of Turkey petrol sector are presented.
