Abstract (EN)

Today, the rapid increase in the world population, the importance of economic development and development, the increase in the level of economic and social welfare of the countries, the change in people's consumption preferences, and the increase in energy consumption play an important role. This change has revealed the efforts to find alternatives to fossil energy sources and has made renewable energy sources important. Today, while renewable energy investments such as solar energy, wind energy, water energy, wave energy, biomass energy, hydrogen energy are increasing, it is important to evaluate the investments in terms of resource use and analyze profitability. In this study, the Benefit/Cost Analysis, which is used for the economic analysis of investments that will provide the highest efficiency by evaluating renewable energy sources and Turkey's current energy potential, is discussed in detail. The Benefit/Cost Analysis has been applied separately to the İzmir Karaburun Wind Power Plant (WPP) Project, the Uşak Solar Power Plant (GES) Project and the Elazığ Hydroelectric Power Plant (HES) Project. In this context, firstly, the current situation in Turkey's renewable energy resources (solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, biomass energy, hydraulic energy, wave energy and hydrogen energy) has been revealed and a comparative economic analysis has been made for RES, SPP and HEPP. Using the Trend Analysis in academic studies, evaluations were made about Turkey's energy resources in 2025. Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), Türkiye Elektrik Iletim A.Ş. (TEİAŞ) creates statistical data, literature studies and investment feasibility of the International Energy Agency (IEA). Benefit/Cost Analysis was used for economic analysis. According to the results of this analysis, it has been concluded that the Uşak Solar Energy Project is a more optimum project and this project creates more value. According to the results obtained from three different power plants, it was concluded that the Uşak SPP Project is a more applicable project in terms of risk. Today's energy needs, energy use and future scientific studies show that the orientation to solar energy will increase in the coming years. As technology improves and material and installation costs decrease, solar energy will become a more efficient source. The widespread use of solar power plants, which are clean and have the least environmental impact compared to other renewable energy sources, is of great importance for Turkey.
