Abstract (EN)

CHP is the most important actor in the establishment of political system and construction process of multiparty political life. It has also been an important mission carrier as the state- founding party. Revolutions in the establishment of the republic were realized through CHP and CHP has the privilege of being single political party directly involved in the construction of a modern society and Turkish democracy. CHP has managed the country alone for about 27 years from the establishment of the its corporation to the elections held in 1950 by rising over the cadres of the ARMHC which played a major role in winning the independence war. In this context, main purpose of the study is to investigate the underlying causes of CHP'S evolution to an ineffective position today although it is an political actor which established a state. In accordance with this purpose, it is tried to be analyzed voters' CHP perceptions of those who have voted and haven't voted for CHP in Afyonkarahisar and Kütahya. The effects of changes and alternations especially after the 1980 military coup on determining voter preferences are tried to be analyzed through the CHP perceptions of both electorate. In this context, the current polarization and almost fixed vote rates are tried to be resolved by voter's views on CHP.
