Abstract (EN)
The study has done as randomized controlled experimental design to determine the effect of care that given according to selfcare theory on the blood values and self care power of the patients with diabetic. By including all of the universe, between February and March 2016, 30 from the control group, 35 from experimental group totally 65 patients with diabetes who applied to Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Practice Hospital Endocrine Clinic.Experimantal values has been collected by the servey form which is about the characteristics of introducing patients, metabolic control results form(HbA1c, Lipid Levels) and self care scale. When the test group was given maintenance by SDNT, the control group was left with routine application.Patients in the experimental group were treated 4 times (once a week) for 30-40 minutes at home and diabetes education booklet was given. In every patient care, Blood pressure, fasting blood sugar (FBS) -partial blood sugar (PBS) was measured and planned nursing interventions were applied according to SDNT. In pre-test comparisons of experimental and control groups; There was no statistically significant correlation (p> 0.05) between FBS, PBS, HbA1c and Self care power, but Blood pressure, HDL, LDL values of the experimental group increased significantly(p <0.05).In the pre-mid-final test comparisons of the study group, blood values (FBS, PBS, HbA1c, HDL, Triglyceride, Blood pressure) and self-care power increased positively (p <0.05).In the pre-final test comparisons of the control group, significant increases (p <0.05) in blood values (PBS, HDL, LDL, Blood pressure) and negative changes in self-care power were determined. In the final test comparisons of experimental and control groups; In the experimental group; There was statistically significance between PBS, FBS, blood pressure, HDL, LDL cholesterol, Self-maintenance power and there was no statistically significant difference between Triglyceride and HbA1c levels (p> 0.05). In the experimental group, 7 nursing diagnoses were determined during the application and a significantly decrease was observed (p <0.05). As a result of the research, it was determined that; the care given to diabetic individuals according to SDNT had reduced blood values, increased self-care power, and was effective in resolving identified problems. Key words: Diabetes, Nursing, Nursing Care, Blood Values, Power of Self care
