Abstract (EN)
İntroductin and Aim Cigarette is one of the well-known and proven health problems around the world. It causes health problems at the organs and in addition to psychiatric effects leads most diseases. Tendency of cigarette usage may increase with stress factors during the teen age or sudden change of social life. Purpose of this study was investigate the cigarette addiction state and anxiety depression relations at Yildirim Beyazit University Medical School Students. Methods: The 375 participants were attended to our study from Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University Medical School. We were inquired student Sociodemografic data's and were asked them smoking status. Smoker students were tested with FNBT and all students were tested with HADS. Data were collected and analyzed using the SPSS for Windows 2000 program. Qualitative data were investigated between groups' differences and Student T, One Way Anova, Mann Withney-U, Spearman correlation analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, Kruskal – Wallis tests were used. Accuracy rate was presumed p<0,05 when result was criticizing. Results: The 375 student were participated to our study and 12% ( 45 ) of them were smoking cigarette. According to our investigation, following 45 students were gain average 3.07±2.37 on the Fagerström addiction scale. That numbers are indicating low-level nicotine addiction. When we were investigated the factors of the smoking, that economical status was not affecting the cigarette usage. Male attendees anxiety score average was 7.46±3.33 and depression score average was 7.14±2.45. Female attendees anxiety score average was 7.92±3.37 and depression score average was 7.13±2.62. Total smoker attendees anxiety score average was 8.96±4.2, non-smoker attendee's anxiety score average was 7.55±3.1, therefore, there is Statistically, and meaningfully differences according to anxiety scores (p=0.03). According to attendees, second year ant third year student's anxiety scores indicate meaningfully differences (p=0.025). Second year student were gained the highest anxiety score instead of the other students (average 9.06). We haven't seen any Statistically, and meaningfully differences corresponding to anxiety scores at between other year students. We were gained Statistically relation relevant to depression at between first year and second year students (p=0.048). Conclusion: Correspond to our study results, cigarette lead to very important Psychiatric problem like Anxiety. We have observed that Medical School students have high degree depression scores related to psychosocial stress and high anxiety. There is huge amount of organic pathology confirmations related to smoking. There is not enough study about occurrence of Psychiatric diseases or development of same disease. This study was local therefore we can't generalize to the all Medical School students. There is more sophisticated study to investigate that psychosocial stress increase at the University level students. Key words: sigarette, addiction, anxiete, depression , medical school
