Abstract (EN)
In recent years, the immigration movement has increased drastically due to various reasons. A desire for having better life conditions led up to immigration; in addition to wars, collisions and the feeling of suppression caused by violence. The people movement, which is called the Arab Spring and started in 2010 in Arabic world, has caused a local political and armed struggles. The Post-Civil War of Syria resulted in heavy immigration from Syria to Turkey and Europe. This immigration from Syria had an important effect on European Union and Turkey's immigration policy choices to be applied. In this thesis study, the fugitive policies of Turkey and European Union has been analyzed (examined) and these policies in order to enlighten the future role of it, an assessment was made in the context of security. The Syrian asylum seekers policies of Turkey and European Union has been chosen as an example of to help emphasizing their borders within the frame of security. This study is important for explaining the evolvement impact of Syrian crises on Turkey and European Union. In addition to this, this study is helping to identify the application of policies coming out of particularly the security concept. Through all these, this study is important for giving ideas to decision makers. The reasons that complicate Turkey - EU relations are the migration mobility increased by the Syrian civil war, political discourse leaning towards the right-wing resulting from this migration mobility, and the economic and security-related problems. Tensions rise during election periods, especially in Turkey and the EU member states. The ongoing relations between Turkey and the EU need to be handled far away from daily political debates, and actions that may disrupt these relations must be avoided.
