Abstract (EN)

In this study according to the Research and İnquiry Based Teaching (RİBT) method of the Computer Aided Teaching (CAT) method the 7th grade students academic adchievements of the force and energy unit pressure subject was investigated. The study was implemented in Atatürk Secondary School in the Palu district of Elazığ province in the spring semester of 2017-2018 academic year. The study was conducted with a total of 40 students in 7 / A and 7 / B classes. 7 / A experiment (20) and 7 / B control (20) groups were selected from the randomly selected classes. Two random classes were choosen and one got classified as an experimental and the other as a control group. For four weeks the students in the experimental group got taught with the BDÖ method and the students in the control group with the research and inquiry based teaching method. All the students in the groups performed a Science Academical Success Test (SAST) scales pre-and post test before and after the study and Multiple Variance Analysis (MANOVA) dependent and independent t-tests were used for the analysis of the total data. When the results of the study were fully examined a significant statistically difference was seen between the post test scores of the groups in favor of the experimental group (p = .003). As the Partial Eta Square value were calculated. This statistically significant difference between the groups shown to have a very high effect size (partial eta square = .208). The groups were also compared within themselves. As the two groups pre-and post test point averages were examined it shows the averages of both groups statistically increased. The p value for the experimental group was calculated as .000 . The results shows the experimental group has a statistically significant difference between pre-and post test achievement scores. The difference for the experimental group were also substantially high (partial eta square= .904). The p value for the control group were calculated as .000 . This value shows that there is a statistically significant difference between the pre-and post test achievement scores of the control group. In the control group like the experimental group, the significant statistically difference is larger in magnitude of effect (partial eta square=.715). It has been determined that research and inquiry based teaching and computer aided teaching methods increase the academic success of the science class in the 7th grade students on pressure and energy unit pressure. However, the success of the experimental group with computer aided teaching method increased more. The post test scores were also compared by the sex of the students. The post test scores of the male and female students was analyzed and p value was calculated as .981. As a result of the analysis there was no significant statistically difference between the boys and girls. As a result, the applied methods have shown a huge positiv affect to the academic success of the students. Key Words: Research and İnquiry Based Teaching Method, Computer Aided Teaching Method, Science Academical Success Test.
