Determining the State of Clinical Decision of the Surgical Nurses in the Information and Implementation Related to the pro re nata Analgesic Demand In Terms of Postoperative Pain Management The study was carried out with the aim of analysing the state of clinical decision of the surgical nurses related to the PRN analgesic demand in terms of postoperative pain management. The research was carried out in four hospital located in the province of Mardin with the participation of 146 nurses. The study data was collected through the question form prepared in the light of the literature. The data, obtained from the study, was analysed by transferring into the IBM SPSS Statistics 22 programme. The frequency for the categorical variables was provided as (n,%). Chi-Square analysis was applied in order to analyse the correlation among the categorical variables. The educational level of the nurses participating in our study is generally undergraduate (61.0 %) and 52,1 % of them have a professional experience of 0-5 years. The fact was detected that 69,2 % of the nurses had not received training related to the PRN analgesic demand. It was detected that the nurses (61.0 %) implemented the PRN analgesic demand when there was pain, that they considered the aim of the implementation form as prevention of increasing the patient's pain (59,6 %) and applying as little medicine as possible (45,2 %) and that they thought that the implementation provided sufficient pain management (52,4 %). In consequence of the research the fact was detected that the nurses did not have enough knowledge related to the "PRN analgesic implementation form". To this term, knowledge and implementation related to the postoperative pain management should be provided wide space during the undergraduate nursing training and written and oral protocols should be developed for the formation of standards in PRN analgesic implementation form in necessity.
