Examination of emotional expression in children in terms of parental attitude

From the moment we were born,the feelings are one of the most basic parts of our life. Feelings differ from person to person in terms of expression way and intensity.It is important to understand the variables that influence the feelings of the child in the process of designing our attitudes towards him/her. The aim of this study is to investigate the emotions revealed by children, in terms of the attitudes of parents towards their kids and variables affecting these manners. İn accordance with this purpose, Parental Attitude Scale, Child Emotion Expression Scale and Family Information Form were applied to 300 kids aged 2-6 years and their parents selected by the simple random sampling method. The universe of study was determined as the families living in the district of Çekmeköy. As a result of the research, significant relationships were found between emotional expression and parental attitudes in children. Positive strong level significant relationship was found between the democratic attitude,from the parental attitudes and happy one,from the child emotion state expressions.On the other hand, negative weak level significant relationship was found between the democratic attitude and sad,furious,scared one. When the parents have democratic manner, as the child is more likely to have happy emotion expression,the possibility of having sad,furious and scared emotion expression decreases.
