Abstract (EN)

The theatre works written by Refik Halid Karay, Reşat Nuri Güntekin, Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu, Ahmet Kutsi Tecer, Cevat Fehmi Başkut, Ahmet Muhip Dıranas, Oktay Rifat, Necati Cumalı, Orhan Asena and Turgut Özakman with a family and woman-oriented approach reveal the positive and negative effects of social realities and modernism movements on family life. In this context, family models integrated with tradition and cultural values in theatre works are classified and examined, and answers are sought to the questions of how the ideal woman and family phenomenon is in the minds of the society and what are the dynamics determining family relations in rural and urban areas. The effects of the modernization era that changed the lifestyle of the Turkish family are discussed under two titles: "Social Change and Family" and "Women and Married Life". Key Words: Family, Woman, Society, Tradition
