Diyarbakır has been the transition point of cultural integration in every period of history and this has given Diyarbakır an important identity. It hosted ancient civilizations and at the same time, it continued its existence in the region with the advantage of cultural exchange. Diyarbakir has maintained this feature to the present day and continues to be an important center today. In this context, Diyarbakir has been seen as an important city for the Democratic Party (DP) and the situation has given particular importance to the party's activities in Diyarbakir. During its ten years in power, the DP has carried out important activities in Diyarbakır. The DP, especially following a different policy from the previous periods, acted with the idea that it would be more appropriate to win these regions and it was the policy followed by the party politics in general. In the context of Diyarbakır, the policies implemented by the DP in terms of peace and security of the people during the decade have contributed to the party's existence for a long time. In this study, the results of the activities of DP and its activities in Diyarbakır are examined. Particularly in order to ensure the order that constitutes the main part of the issue, the DP's policy of gathering supporters has made a significant gain. The impact of the measures taken by the state in order to ensure security in the DP period in Diyarbakır has enabled the DP to pursue an active policy in this region. In this context, murder, smuggling, wounding, and combating drugs can be listed among the most important activities of the DP. The main purpose was to ensure the peace and security of the people. In this study, the effect of the DP government on Diyarbakır, which covers the years 1950-1960, was investigated and the studies of the period were tried to enlighten this issue especially in the light of the approach of the local press to the subject.
