The place of the course of education of religion and knowledge of ethics in the meaning world of students

In this study, the views of 22 students who have been educated in various schools in the central districts of Ankara and Istanbul provinces, and newly graduated from Primary School, Secondary School, High School are aimed to evaluate the influence of the course of Culture of Religion and Knowledge of Ethics on the program, teacher and approach. From this context, the main purpose of the research is to evaluate the transfer of the objectives of the course of Culture of Religion and Knowledge of Ethics to the students through their experiences based on the opinions and practices of the students involved in the research. In this study, which tries to present the current status of the experience of the course of Culture of Religion and Knowledge of Ethics according to the students, "Phenomenological Research" model has been used from qualitative research patterns. Within the scope of our research; in the first stage, the units and acquisitions of the course of Culture of Religion and Knowledge of Ethics in the Teaching Curriculum and the academic studies that measure the students' opinions are examined with document examination technique. In the second stage, as having been examined the relationship between religious development steps of students and religious education within the conceptual framework, the influence of religion to shape the meaning world of the individual have been tried to be explained. In the third stage, as having been discussions with the students who are studying in the current classrooms about the course of Culture of Religion and Knowledge of Ethics, the process of the course, expectations from the course, the problems and suggestions related to the course, along with important expressions, meaning units, textual and structural descriptions, and the "description of the essence" have been tried to be expressed. In this thesis, it has been concluded that students' interest and expectations have been changed as the age range of the students grown; the existing content and books have not met students' expectations in general; the course contents should be reviewed and different materials ought to be produced through the new media tools and teachers should develop new models and techniques to explore the meaning of the students in this context.
