Impact of the social media on adoption of educational computer games

Users who play educational computer games aimed at the study of this research should examine the application based on the influence of social media on adoption and habits. For this purpose, a game called Zomni was developed and applied to 161 university students in the same class who took a specific course in one academic year. Students are logged in with Facebook application to measure their tendency to use the application, differences according to demographic variables, attitudes towards the lessons supported by educational computer games. In addition to this, the players' playing frequency and the playing times are tested with "Zomni Educational Game" during a certain period of academic year. At this stage of the study, data were collected using quantitative data. Evidence of the hypotheses is provided by analyzing the constructs with the chi-square test. In the second phase of the study, qualitative research was conducted to collect data. In this study 20 students were interviewed one by one through a social media platform and attitude scale was applied. People in the study were randomly selected. The answers to the questions have been examined with voyant tools, which are a web application, and their frequencies have been removed. In the study, it was revealed that the people who play educational games are influenced by the social media characteristics and that there is a positive relationship between them and that they have positive attitudes towards educational computer supported lectures.
