El-cuhûdu'l-lugaviyye li'l-Konevî fî kitâbihi Enîsu'l-Fukahâ

One of the factors that strengthen the personality of man is his aspiration towards one desired noble aim. Our affiliation to the great religion of Islam, has built in us the will to search about all that is related to this religion and has led us to Arabic language so as to speak it, learn it and teach it, which has made our affiliation to this religion even stronger. Our predecessors felt this success in various scientific and legal fields, and I have found this to be clear among the jurists, especially in the book of "Anis Al-Fuqaha" by Qasim bin Abdullah al-Qunawi (died 978 AH), which I made as my research problem. This book falls into 36 books following jurist tabulation. The author- may Allah have mercy on him - begins the chapters of jurisprudence with a linguistic presentation of jurisprudential terms. The sections of these chapters, which are many and varied begin with the book "Al-Tahara" and end with the book "Al-Faraa'ith." In these two sections, we observe different methods in directing the meanings of jurisprudential terminology and originating them through a suitable linguistic presentation. As language is the instrument of science, including jurisprudence, there is a link between these two aspects. I have entrusted to Allah the purpose of revealing this relationship, and so, I made a section under the title of "Linguistic Efforts". The research takes it to charge to highlight the efforts of Imam Al-Qunawi in his book "Anis Al-Fuqaha" in which he presents many aspects of the language. The book accordingly, deserves to be described as a dictionary in the language of jurists. The work of Al-Qunawi tackles two areas: Language and Semantic, from which we have made the methodological premises of our research and have tackled the various treatments that reflect the efforts of Al-Qunawi in this book. The research material is divided into two chapters preceded by a preface, in which I speak about Al-Qunawi and his book. The first chapter includes the linguistic efforts; it is divided into three sections. In the first section, I mention the resources of Al-Qanawi's linguistic efforts; whereas in the second, I state Al-Qunawi's invocation of linguistic س evidence on the meaning of the words. In the third section, I present Al-Qunawi's methods of meaning detection". The second chapter is also divided into three sections and includes the semantic efforts. In the first section, I speak about semantic, what it is, its causes and its evolution. In the second section, I speak about the phenomena of semantic evolution in "Anis Al-Fuqaha"; meanwhile the third section presents "Al-Qunawi's stance from linguistic phenomena. Finally, the research ends with a conclusion which shows the most important findings and recommendations that were included in the research, in addition to a list of important and reliable sources. If this research has fulfilled its purpose, then this is what I have sincerely wanted and desired and I have been able to do that with the help of Alllah Almighty. But yet, if there are any shortcomings, then they are entirely attributed to the human that I am. I ask Allah His forgiveness and reward, and suffice it that I have completed my thought and have not spared an effort.
