Abstract (EN)

The present study aims to examine the relationship between cognitive emotional regulation, perceived parental attitudes, perceived social support in adolescence and adult. The participants of this study are adolescence and adult live in Ankara's Gölbaşı area. Adolescents ages ranged in 14 to 19 and adults age ranged in 20 to 55. The data obtained from the adolescent and adult participants using the Demographic Information Form, Brief Symptom Inventory, Cognitive Emotional Regulation Scale, Perceived Parental Attitude Scale, Family and Friend Perceived Social Support Scale and Perceived Multiple Social Support Scale. Data were analyzed by using t-test, correlation, multiple variance (MANOVA) and regression analyzes. As a result of the study, rumination, catastrophizing, blaming others, positive refocusing, refocus on planing, positive reappraisal and putting into perspective, parental rejection and protection, perceived social support from family and friends were related to psychological health in adolescence. Self blame, rumination, catastrophizing, blaming others, positive refocusing, refocus on planing, positive reappraisal and putting into perspective, parental warmth, rejection and protection, perceived social support from family, friends and special semoone were related to psychological health in adults. Adults use positive refocusing, refocus on planing, positive reappraisal and putting into perspective cognitive emotion regulation strategies and perceived more social support than adolescence. Also adolescences perceived higher maternal protection than adults. Mother's emotional warmth and social support from friends in adults were predictors of psychological symptoms. However, in adolescents, catastrophizing and blaming others were predictors of psychological symptoms. Findings of the present study was discussed in the light of literature.
