Muscle strength and bone mineral density relation in adults

In this study, it was aimed to determine how muscle strength and some biochemical parameters and bone mineral density (BMD) changes according to sex in adults. A total of 80 individuals including boys and girls in the 18-25 age group and girls and boys in the same age group participated in the study. BMD and biochemical parameters (glucose, insulin, creatinine, calcium, phosphorus, Vitamin D, homocysteine, Vitamin B12, folate) were measured by force (hand grip, back and leg strength) A multidimensional scaling analysis technique was used to investigate the relationship between the individual's strength and biochemical parameters and the T and Z scores of BMD, and an analysis of the mean (ANOM) was used to compare the strength and biochemical parameters with the BMD- related groups. In the Lomber vertebra (L1-L4) region and femur neck BMD was found to be significant in favor of soccer players in all groups. However, it has been found that T and Z scores are more related to hand grip strength than BMD (T and Z scores), multidimensional scaling analysis, and force parameters measured in all groups regardless of group and gender differences. Between BMD and biochemical parameters, T and Z scores in all groups were found to be strongly correlated with vitamin B12 and other parameters other than glucose. As a result, it was determined that the strength and biochemical values of soccer players were better than those of soccer players, but the relationship between T and Z scores, strength and biochemical parameters of lumbar and femur region BMD did not differ according to gender and groups.
