Immigration and religion: The sample of Syrian refugees staying at the central city of Niğde

After the Syrian war, thousands of Syrian refugees took refuge in Turkiye, and the issue of migration and its effects on Turkeye came to the fore. This research includes Syrian asylum seekers who migrated to Turkey from war zones since 2011. Since the migration from Syria into the country covers a very wide area, the subject area is limited to "Syrian refugees living in the city center of Niğde". The main purpose of the study is to determine whether the pre-migration religious beliefs and attitudes of Syrian refugees have undergone any changes after the forced migration. In order to make correct determinations, the semi-sensory interview method was preferred and direct interviews were conducted. Due to the fact that some information does not know enough Turkish, translator support was received in Turkish-Arabic. In the research, Syrian refugees were asked questions about their religious and daily lives both in Syria and Turkeye. In addition, a view of the city from the perspective of living in a village in Syria but once settled in the city after migration. Finally, the sender was asked if they wanted to return to Syria. Accordingly, it will be preserved that the conditions put forward by the Syrian refugees, who say that they will advance under certain conditions, are resolved in the short term. In addition, multi-dimensional analyzes were made on the following demographic information, not gender, age, education, language, marital region. Thirty people, twenty-three women and seven men, were interviewed. As a result of the research, the changes between the religious life and attitudes in Syria and the religious life and attitudes in Turkeye after the forced migration were determined. It is noteworthy that the change is mostly the practical aspect of religion. They observed that the generation growing up in Turkey has a feeling of not belonging to a place.
