Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted as a semi-experimental study to determine the effect of hypno-breastfeeding based education and counseling given in the antenatal period on exclusive breastfeeding status, breastfeeding self-efficacy and breastfeeding motivation. The data of the study were collected by the researcher in online education among 95 women who were between 28th and 34th week in their pregnancies between May 2021 and July 2022. Breastfeeding education based on hypno-breastfeeding philosophy was given to 55 pregnant women who were at their week of gestation in four separate sessions, while standard breastfeeding education was given to 40 pregnant women in a single session. The data of the study were collected online at four different times: pre-test form before the education, post-test form at the end of the education, and postpartum 1st and 8th weeks. 40 women in the hypno-breastfeeding education group and 36 women in the standard education group completed the study. Introductory Information Form, Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale-Short Form, Breastfeeding Motivation Scale and Breastfeeding Process Evaluation Form were used in the study. In the analysis of the data, frequency, percentage values, mean, standard deviation, chi-square, Kolmogorav-Smirnov, Paired Sample t-test, one-way ANOVA and two-way ANOVA were used. Compared to the standard breastfeeding education group, the hypno-breastfeeding education group had a higher increase in the breastfeeding self-efficacy score average, the integrated regulation, intrinsic motivation and the identified regulation score average of the breastfeeding motivation was higher in the postpartum 1st and 8th weeks, and additional external external motivation was observed in the postpartum 8th week. it was determined that the mean of regulation-additional benefit score was higher (p<.05). It was determined that there was no statistically significant difference between the mean scores of introjected regulation-social pressure and introjected regulation-social approval between groups for breastfeeding motivation (p>.05). In line with these results, it was determined that breastfeeding education based on hypno-breastfeeding philosophy increased the breastfeeding self-efficacy and autonomous motivation of women compared to standard breastfeeding education. It is recommended that the philosophy of hypno-breastfeeding be integrated into breastfeeding education and counseling programs.
