Women in Ibn'Arabî's suffic thought

This study aims to examine Ibn 'Arabî's approach to the issue of women in Sûfî thought. The first chapter of the study identifies the women who influenced Ibn 'Arabî's thinking and explores their mystical aspects as mentioned in his works. The second chapter focuses on the position of Eve (Hz. Havvâ) in Ibn 'Arabî's thought. In the third chapter, Ibn 'Arabî's metaphysical perspectives on women are examined. At this point, the study seeks to determine Ibn 'Arabî's approach and interpretations regarding questions such as "Who are the women that shape Ibn 'Arabî's Sûfî thought?", "How does Ibn 'Arabî interpret Eve within his metaphysical framework?", "Does Ibn 'Arabî's metaphysics involve a divine or cosmological basis for gender differentiation?", "Are there any differences between men and women in achieving spiritual progress?", "How does Ibn 'Arabî establish a connection between an individual's perfection and marriage?", and "Does Ibn 'Arabî employ the symbolism of women in presenting his views?" Ibn 'Arabî's views are analyzed and synthesized based on his own concepts from his works. As a result of this thesis, it is concluded that Ibn 'Arabî is an original thinker on women's issues.
