The concepts of patience, gratitude and conviction in terms of human will (Hadith analysis)

Man is an intelligent being who lives by his will and has superior abilities than other living beings. Unlike all creatures, it is the only being that is in the highest position in terms of equipment, can exceed its limits, discover its potential and develop itself, shape its life and character with its own will, and therefore is responsible for its actions. The concepts of patience, gratitude and contentment occupy a very valuable place in the education of a person's will. As a result of the correct understanding and application of these concepts, the happiness of the world and the hereafter will be realized according to the age and position of the individual. It is important to understand these concepts correctly and broadly in time periods such as the youth period, when a person questions more, is not afraid of conflict, is in different pursuits, listens to his Juniors rather than logic, requires a struggle far from satisfaction; and the old age period, when suffering and diseases increase, intolerance increases. The fact that these concepts, which are directly involved in human life, are used more in the form of verbs in verses and hadiths, shows us that these concepts are dynamic and have a field of application. The superficial understanding of these concepts, the fact that they are not handled in a way that will find solutions to the problems of people of this age, the restriction even on issues left to free will in religion, unfortunately, causes people who have not received religious consciousness to cool off from religion too early. It should be noticed that society now rejects definitions in the Islamic tradition that block their way, prevent them from questioning, confine them to a certain pattern, such as gratitude by looking below themselves. On the contrary, they demand a role model who accepts what they do or want to do in the flow of life or offers an alternative. It is obvious that the Prophet Muhammad, who is a tamer of the will, will be the most beautiful role model in this regard. For this reason, the hadiths of the Prophet on this subject have been identified and evaluated through decency, and these concepts have been re-examined in the light of the hadiths, emphasizing the parallel points identified between them.
