Abstract (EN)

Introduction: Diabetes is one of the chronic diseases with an increasing incidence; It affects the general health and quality of life of the patient in various ways. Aim: This study was planned to evaluate the quality of life in patients with Type 2 diabetes.‎ Methodology: The sample of this cross-sectional and descriptive study consisted of 150 patients. ‎Data were collected face-to-face with the Socio-demographic Data Form, World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale Short Form (WHOQOL-BREF). In the analysis of the data, number, percentage, mean, t-test, correlation and ANOVA tests were used. Results: The mean WHOQOL-BREF total score was found to be 12.03±1.60. By gender; The physical domain sub-dimension score is higher in men than in women, the social and mental sub-dimension scores in singles are higher than those in married people, and the social domain sub-dimension scores in those who do not have children are higher than those who have children, civil servants and self-employed For those who have a profession, the mean scores for all sub-dimensions and total scores are higher for those who have a high school or bachelor's degree than for other occupational groups, except for the social area sub-dimension score, for those who have a high school or bachelor's degree, the mean scores for all sub-dimensions and total scores are higher, the age of diabetes is 1-5 years. It was found that the physical subscale and total score averages of those with ‎between ‎are higher, and the mean of environmental and social subscales of those with diabetes in their first degree relatives were lower and statistically significant (p<0.05). ‎ Conclusion: In our study, it was observed that the quality of life of the patients was moderate. It was concluded that patients need diabetes self-management, prevention of complications and improvement of clinical outcomes.
