Hearing impaired hearing impaired class teachers working in primary schools secondary school teachers in special education and research on the competencies and job sati̇sfacti̇on (example of İstanbul)

ABSTRACTThis study aims to illustrate the relation between the special education field qualifications and job satisfactions of classroom and subject teachers working at hearing impaired primary schools.This research is a depictive study and utilizes the scanning model. The study employs Special Education Qualifications Questionnaire to determine the field qualifications of special education teachers and Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) to specify the job satisfaction degree of teachers of special education. A personal information form has also been prepared by the researcher for the demographic variables.The research has been executed on 115 classroom and subject teachers in 7 Hearing Impaired Primary Schools across the city of Istanbul.The research incorporates percentage and frequency tables in the analysis of the collected data and employs Mann Whitney-U test for the groups of two participants and Kruskal Wallis-H test for the groups of more than two participants. According to the findings of the research, there hasn?t been any verification of a meaningful correspondence between the total points of the Special Education Qualifications Questionnaire and the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire of the teachers at Hearing Impaired Primary Schools.Keywords: Hearing Impaired Primary School, Special Education, Classroom Teacher, Subject Teacher
