Abstract (EN)

İn this research, it was aimed to examine the arts teachers' levels of being subjected to mobbing and its effects on their organizational commitment in junior high schools. Thus, the relations between negative behaviors and the teachers' organizational commitment levels' demographic characteristics, and intimidating behaviors' effects on their commitment levels were studied by applying scales on personal information, negative behaviors and organizational commitments to 145 teachers from public and private schools in 14 districts located in Eastern and European sides of Istanbul. As a result, it was concluded that the mobbing level towards the arts teachers in junior high schools is as low as 30%, there is a negative correlation between the level of exposure to mobbing and adjustment, internalization, and commitment to organizations, and there is not any significant difference in backgrounds, marital status, age, gender, school type or seniority among the teachers who are exposed to mobbing. Teachers' commitment levels do not show any substantial difference according to variable aspects such as gender, age, educational background etc. Neither there is any correlation between the school types they work in and their organizational commitment, adjustment or internalization levels. In summary, the research shows that although there seems to be no correlation between mobbing and organizational commitment, there is a strong correlation between mobbing and identification, and internalization of organization. Evaluating the sub dimentions of organizational commitment, it is clear that there is a strong positive correlation between adaptation and identification or internalization, however there is no relations between identification and internalization.
