Kemoterapi̇ alan kanserli̇ yeti̇şki̇n hastalarda oluşan mukozi̇ti̇n beslenmedeki̇ tat alma üzeri̇ne etki̇si̇ni̇n saptanmasi

This study was carried out between July 2019 - June 2020 to determine the effect of oral mucositis on the gustatory in adult cancer patients. Our cases, 80 women and 42 men aged between 19-65, at Istanbul University Oncology Institute to receive chemotherapy treatment. In the study, the two stage Study Form (Sociodemographic Assessment Form and Patient İnformation Form) and the Chemistry Therapy Taste Change Scale (K-TADÖ) were applied, general information about the participants, socio-demographic conditions, chemotherapy drugs affecting the nutritional status and oral mucositis associated with it may adversely affect the nutritional status. the taste and the amount of food to taste. The statistical analyzes of the findings obtained from the research were made with the SPSS 22.0 data analysis program. While evaluating the data, chi-square test was used to compare descriptive statistical methods (frequency) and qualitative data. Significance was evaluated at the level of p <0.05. A significant relationship was found between some chemotherapy drugs and the presence of oral mucositis (p <0.05). It was observed that 70.5% of the participants experienced a decrease in taste, and 29.5% did not. There were 30 participants who experienced decreased taste with the presence of oral mucositis (p <0.05). Considering the relationship between drug groups and decreased taste, a statistically significant result was found (p <0.05). It has been found that it is of great importance to determine and evaluate the chemotherapy, which is a difficult process for the participants, and the taste that affects the nutrition that comes with it, and to evaluate oncology patients with a team from different branches.
