Abstract (EN)

Since spirituality has been viewed throughout history as an energy that brings happiness to life, it has come to be regarded as the highest kind of effective positive cognition that humans are capable of. However, people in today's digital societies happened to live their lives without this energy. The many facets of spirituality that depend on intuitive awareness cannot develop because of the fast-paced, intense, and virtual nature of the modern age. Within the context of this study, a psychoeducational program was developed, based on the key principles of spiritual well-being in order to enhance or at least promote life satisfaction, happiness, and spiritual orientation. I tried to uncover the connection between the techniques I used and life satisfaction, happiness, and spiritual orientation by applying this program to a specific set of people. 75 educators participated in our study, which was conducted in the years 2020–2021, with 39 in the control group and 36 in the experimental group. The participants' average age is 40.15, and they all work in educational positions for the Ministry of National Education. In the research both quantitative and qualitative methods were used. In the quantitative part, an applied work was carried out using the "split-plot" design with experimental and control groups, pretest-posttest and follow-up test. The spiritual well-being application developed within the scope of the research was applied to the research group in 10 sessions consisting of two parts, while no application was applied to the comparison group during this period. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the educational program provided throughout the study, three tests—The Adult's Life Satisfaction Scale (ALSS), Happiness Orientation Scale (HOS), and Spiritual Orientation Scale (SOS)—were applied to both the experimental and control groups. These scales were put into use three times: once as a "forward test" prior to the application, once as an "end test" following the application, and once as a "follow-up test" four months later. The findings obtained as a result of the measurements were evaluated. In the qualitative part of the research, interviews were conducted with the participants in order to examine the differences created by the application in depth, and the data obtained from these interviews were analyzed in phenomenological design and content analysis method. As a result of the measurements and analyses, the spiritual well-being practice provided a significant and permanent positive difference in the levels of "general life satisfaction", "spiritual orientation" and "total happiness orientations" compared to before the practice, but this difference could not maintain its permanence in the level of "total happiness orientations". According to those who did not participate in the application, it provided a significant and permanent difference in a positive direction at the level of "general life satisfaction" and created a positive and permanent difference at the levels of "spiritual orientation" and "total happiness orientations". The data analysis revealed that the levels of "overall life satisfaction" and "spiritual orientation" of the experimental group participants were significantly higher than those of the control group participants. The levels of "overall happiness" were also found to be higher than in the control group, and there was a significant and effective increase acquired after the application. The study's findings demonstrate that psychoeducational techniques created to boost spiritual wellbeing are substantially successful. The outcomes of the study led to the conclusion that psychoeducational practices of spiritual well-being are making up an appropriate program to boost and support levels of life satisfaction, happiness, and spiritual orientation.
