Textual criticism and analysis of the poetical work titled Silk al-Durr

In this study, it has been aimed to identify and then to analyze the the role played by a poetical work of theology named Silk al-Durr in the literary and theological tradations. Silk al-Durr is a text composed in qasida form which itself had been one of the preferred forms due to its mnemonic nature and its core structural feature that it always presents some information on authors. Islamic sciences have been transmitted in terms of various literary genres, from the very beginning when they began to be taught. In this context, verse as a form of writing has been frequently preferred on the ground that it has a mnemonic and laconic characteristics, and it sticks in the mind. Yet, qaside and urcūza have came into prominence among other types. Silk al-Durr, which constitutes the subject of this thesis, is a theological text written in qaside form. The first part of the study deals with the question of authorship of Silk al-Durr, as well as its extant copies and the differences recognized between them. In that vein, we first inquired as to whether the text is belonged to Molla Hayālī or not, in terms of the record, which replies the question in the affirmative, drafted on the zahriya in one of the manuscripts. In doing so, the life of Molla Hayālī has been analyzed with reference to the diverse sources. Inorder to find out whether there is Silk al-Durr among his works, the works belonging to him and attributed to him by mistake were identified by means of bibliographic works at the libraries. In addition, the similarity rate between Molla Hayâlî's works and Silk al-Durr was considered. Later, the copies of Silk al-Durr in the Suleymaniye Library Laleli and Amasya Beyazıt Library collection were described. The differences between the copies were mentioned, the missing parts were determined. In the second section, which is the main section, literary and theological analysis is included. In the theological study title, it has proceeded through the views in Silk al-Durr. Since the examination of all opinions will exceed this thesis and there will be unnecessary repetition, the remarkable views, their evidence, and objections are included. It has also been tried to determine by whom it was mentioned in the tradition of theology before. At this point, benefited from classical works such as Şerhu'l-Mawâkıf and Şerhu'l-Makâsıd. The thesis has been concluded with the last section of Silkü'd-Dürr's research. During the research, İsam Tahkikli Neşir Kılavuzu was taken as a basis.
