Abstract (EN)
French philosopher Michel Foucault mostly focused on power issue in his academic career. Within 18th Century, power sanctions have been varied. Monarchic rulership became invisible by the time of progress. Instead of forbid and punish, a positive statesmanship was adopted and it rehabilitated and preserved individual. Human body was centralized in core of politics. Foucault's biopower means a power form which correlates itself with human bodies. With health, genome, family and normality classifications, population and individual are controlled and subjugated to the power. The process of tame is realized by the disciplinary and regulatory mechanisms. While prisons and hospitals are disciplining and controlling individuals, families and teachers make those people congruous to the societal norms. After the Second World War, emergent Rubble Literature in Germany, it focused on the destruction of people lives because of the war. Hunger, poverty, desolateness and death, are all the subject of those writings. Heinrich Böll and Wolfgang Borchert are two important names in this literary movement. Although they mostly wrote short stories, they also putted on paper in different areas in literature. Borchert's one and only theatre play "Outside the Doors" narrate a story of a depressed soldier who comes back from the war. Because of the war traumas and the situation when he comes back and sees the reality, he wants to commit suicide but he cannot succeed due to multifarious reasons and the characters around him in this theatre play. The body cannot be controlled by the individual himself. From a Foucauldian perspective, this theatre play can be interpreted by the reflections of a versatile biopower asking who is going to live or die, how individuals should live and who is the responsible for the action clusters above actions.
