The opinions of music teachers on the use of accompaniment within the scope of music teaching methods and techniques (Konya provincial example)

This research is important in terms of emphasizing the importance of accompaniment, revealing the relationship between music teaching methods and techniques used and accompaniment, and providing solutions by identifying problems, if any. In the research, it is aimed to reveal the opinions of music teachers about the use of accompaniment within the scope of 20th century music teaching methods and techniques. For this purpose, 23 secondary schools affiliated to MEB in the central districts of Konya were selected and 33 music teachers working in the selected secondary schools were interviewed. A structured interview form consisting of 8 questions, 4 open-ended and 4 closed-ended, was applied to the teachers. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis and descriptive analysis method. The results have been tabulated. As a result of the research, they stated that music teachers have a positive attitude towards accompaniment, they include instrument accompaniment in their lessons and the most preferred instrument is the organ. In addition, it was seen that the methods most used by the teachers were the Kodaly and Orff methods, they used instruments while applying the methods, and there was an effect between the methods and the instruments.
