Abstract (EN)
In the research, Slavoj Zizek's views on religion and society are discussed sociologically in the context of critical and postmodern thoughts. Accordingly, the aim of the study is to exhibit the neo-Marxist analysis of the conflict in social life. Slavoj Zizek's views were examined under the headings of religion, culture, politics and ideology; the findings including the interpretations of the conflict were revealed. Macro method and indirect observation technique were used in the study. In addition to this, general techniques such as induction, deduction, and critical discourse were also used in the research process. In this study, based on Zizek's works translated into Turkish, interviews, conversations and speeches; It was found that he evaluated the conflicts on the axis of religion far from the Marxist point of view, defined ideology as a concept that feeds conflict, and interpreted multiculturalism as conflict elements that feed racial discrimination and traditional colonialism.
