The study was made on 128 obese girl students with similar demographic characteristics (n=63 experimental, n=65 control) going to three high schools during the 2017-2018 academic year. A pre-test and post-test control group design was used in this study. The study was a randomized controlled trial and a pretest-posttest control group random pattern was used. The following training programs were organized by the researcher and were given to the group; "Nutrition, Physical Activity, Coping Methods for Menstrual Symptoms Training Programme". The training programs were applied in two stages. In the first stage for four weeks, 120 minutes once a week, a total of 12 course hours were given. in the second stage; 120 minutes of reinforcement training was given each month for 3 months to experimental group. The study continued for a total of 16 weeks. Totally of 1300 female students' height, weight, body mass index were scanned 143 students were included in the study in accordance with the research criteria. The data collection tools are Personal Information Form, Healthy Lifestyle Behavior Scale II, Menstruation Symptom Scale and Student Follow-up Schedule. Data analysis was performed using SPSS Statistics 23 package program. At the end of the study, the difference between the groups before the HLBS II, training was t = -0.123 p = 0.903, and after the training t = -1.190 p = 0.236. There was no statistically significant difference in the total scale scores of the obese female students (p> 0.05). The difference between the groups before the MSS education was t = -0.101 p = 0.919 and the difference between the groups after the training was t = 2.761 p = 0.007. A significant difference (p <0.05) was found in the total scale scores of female students. This result reveals that planned training given on nutrition, physical activity and improving menstrual symptoms affects the mid-adolescent obese girls and allows them to gain behaviors for a more healthy life and decreases their menstrual symptoms.
