Abstract (EN)
This study was planned to examine the effect of pain on sleep, fatigue, depression level and daily living activities in patients with anterior knee pain. A total of 60 participants, 30 of whom were between the ages of 25-45, 30 healthy individuals with anterior knee pain and 30 without knee pain, were included in the study. Visual Analogue Scale was used to determine the level of pain, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index to define sleep quality, Checklist Individual Strength Scale for fatigue level, Beck Depression Scale to determine depression level and Nottingham Health Profile Scale to determine quality of life. IBM SPSS Statistics 23 package program was used for statistical analysis of the data. As a result of the analysis, the rate of anterior knee pain in women was found to be higher (63.3%). Mild disturbances were found in shoulder, hip, foot and arch postures of the group participants with anterior knee pain and a significant difference was found between the groups (p<0.001). In the study group, it was found that subjective sleep quality was worse, the time to fall asleep longer, and sleep and daytime dysfunction was more pronounced. When the groups were compared in terms of depression level, the scores obtained in the study group were significantly higher than the control group (p=0.001); When compared in terms of fatigue variable, it was found that the mean scores of subjective fatigues, decrease in concentration, decrease in motivation and decrease in physical activity were significantly higher in the study group compared to the control group (p<0.001). Quality of life was lower in the study group compared to the control group, and the mean scores of the quality-of-life subscales such as energy, pain, emotional reactions, sleep, social isolation and physical activity were significantly higher in the study group compared to the control group (p<0.001). In this study, it was concluded that pain in patients with anterior knee pain had a negative effect on sleep, fatigue, depression level and daily living activities.
