Abstract (EN)
Başakıl E., The Effect of Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors on Weight Loss for Obese females 18-65 Aged applying Fatih Hospital, İstanbul, 2018. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of healthy lifestyle behaviors and obesity on nutritional weight loss in obese females aged 18-65 who applied to Fatih Hospital. The study was conducted with the participation of 80 obese females individuals between January and May 2018. A questionnaire was used to determine the demographic characteristics, health status, nutritional habits and nutrient consumption frequency of the participants (Annex 1); Biopsy Impedance Analysis (BIA) was used to determine the physical measurements of the subjects and the necessary anthropometric measurements. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ-UFAA) short form was used to determine physical activity levels. In order to determine the healthy lifestyle behaviors of the participants, Healthy Life Style Behaviors Scale ( HLBS II) which is composed of 52 questions was applied. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 24.0 was used for statistical data. As a result of the study, the mean total score of the subjects was 131,6 ± 38.9; The mean subscale subscales of HLBS II were 20.7 ± 8.7; self-realization 22.5 ± 8.0; health responsibility 26,0 ± 7,6; exercise 17.0 ± 4.7; interpersonal support was 23.5 ± 8.7 and stress management was found to be 21.9 ± 6.7. Significant differences were found between BMI changes, body fat mass difference, waist circumference and waist / hip ratio mean difference and HLBS II scores (P <0.05). A significant difference was found between the physical activity levels of the individuals and the HLBS II (p <0.05). Accordingly, it was determined that the active-participants had higher HLBS II scores than the others. As is seen in this study, nutrition and healthy life principles should be educated before starting medical nutrition therapy, and the role of balanced and regular nutrition should be clearly shown in order to maintain a healthy state.
