Sûrah Yusuf in the context of psychological Tafsir

One of the main subjects of the Qur'an is human. There are many reasons underlying human feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Psychology, which is a positive science that studies human behavior, has begun to form in the last two centuries. Afterwards, the School of Psychological Tafsir emerged with the aim of interpreting the Qur'an with the data of Psychology. In this study, it is aimed to interpret the Qur'an with the method of psychological interpretation. Surah Yusuf, which contains many psychological issues and many positive and negative emotions, thoughts, behaviors and characters that people may encounter, has been examined in the context of psychological commentary. Our study consists of an introduction and three parts. In the introduction, general information about the subject, importance, purpose and method of the study and psychological interpretation will be given. In the first chapter, general information about the parables is given and information is given about the Prophet's consolation with stories. In the second part, general information about Surah Yusuf is given and the psychological background of the reason for its revelation is examined. In the third chapter, the psychological issues in the story of Yusuf are tried to be interpreted. In the conclusion part, the findings and recommendations obtained from the study were collected.
