Abstract (EN)

With the developing medicine, human life and elderly population rate is increasing. In addition to prolonging human life, it is one of the aims of medical science to keep people physically, psychologically and socially healthy and comfortable during this long life. Although the number of chronic diseases increases with aging, the physical power and performance capacity of the person is decreasing. In order to move from one place to another, walking is the act of using two legs together to support and advance, at least one is always in contact with the ground. It is inevitable that the human body in which the physical capacity decreases as a result of aging, changes in walking time, walking distance and walking cycle. Some degenerative diseases directly affect these negative changes. OA is a common joint disease with increasing prevalence. The most commonly affected joint is the knee joint and this disease causes severe knee joint gonarthrosis in patients with very high quality of life. It accomplishes this both by the deforming and painful joint that loses the range of motion of the joint and by reducing the feeling of proprioception in the joint. Currently, conservative methods are being used primarily in the treatment of OA, and a significant proportion of these methods are intraarticular (IA) injections. In addition to agents such as corticosteroids, hyaluronic acid and PRP, ASTA molecule was tested on MIA-induced OA rat models. Before and after all these applications, rats were carried out on Catwalk device and data were recorded. When the results were considered, we found that the Catwalk device was an appropriate method in OA rat experimental models. Afterwards, we found that MIA was a suitable chemical agent in rat OA modeling because it mimics the pathophysiologic degenerative OA. As a result of our study, we observed a clinker improvement in all IA injection groups after OA. Finally, it was observed that the ASTA molecule, which is a potent antioxidant, is currently being used as an injection of IA in the treatment of OA, provides significant improvements in rat OA models. As a result, it is estimated that ASTA treatment may be used as an alternative to currently used treatments.
