Abstract (EN)

This study is a randomized controlled experimental study that was conducted to determine the effect of music played and early skin to skin contact in cesarean deliveries performed with spinal anesthesia on the pain level, satisfaction and maternal attachment of mothers. The sample of the study consisted of 80 women who gave birth with spinal anesthesia in the cesarean operation room and postpartum clinics of a private hospital in Ankara. Data was collected by using Data Collection Form, Pregnancy Relationship Form with Music, VAS, SMMSCB, Neonatal Information and Breastfeeding Form, LATCH and MAI. In the evaluation of the data Independent Sample-t, ANOVA, Paired Sample-t, Kruskal-Wallis H, Wilcoxon ve Friedman test were used to analyze the data. As a results of the study; the difference between the groups was statistically significant in terms of body temperature of the babies of the mothers who participated in the study, time to start first breastfeeding (min.), the first breastfeeding time (min.), and weight loss in the first 24 hours (g); body temperature of the babies of the mothers in the SSC group was statistically significantly higher than those in the music and control groups; in the SSC group the first breastfeeding time (min.) was significantly earlier than the control group; The first breastfeeding time (min.) in the SSC group was statistically significantly longer than in the control group; In the music group, it was determined that the babies' weight loss (g) in the first 24 hours was statistically significantly higher than the babies in the control group. At the same time, the difference between the groups was found to be statistically significant in terms of the first postpartum breastfeeding and the 24th hour LATCH breastfeeding and diagnostic scale scores (p = 0.001). While a statistically significant difference was found in terms of VAS scores of mothers in the music group before and after music (Z = -3.353; p = 0.001); VAS scores after music were found to be statistically significantly lower than before music. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of SMMSCB total score and sub-dimension scores and maternal attachment scale scores (p> 0.05). As a result; it was concluded that mothers experienced pain and breastfeeding problems after cesarean delivery, and this situation affected maternal satisfaction and maternal attachment. It is recommended to use music and early skin to skin contact together or separately in cesarean delivery as safe and effective non-pharmacological methods in pain management, relieving breastfeeding problems, increasing maternal satisfaction and ensuring maternal attachment.
