Abstract (EN)

This study consists of Muhammad Burhaneddin-i Belhî's (1849-1930) life, works and the transcription, translation and analysis of the mathnawi and euologies registered in the miscellany 1380 in Süleymaniye Library, Donated Manuscripts Section. Belhî lived in the last century of the Ottoman Empire and was one of the leading poets of his time. Belhî, who was only engaged in poetry throughout his life, made his living by writing poems. The poet, who considers poetry as the food of the soul, has enlivened every meeting with poems. When he came across with his friends on the street, he salute them saying poems instead of salutation words, and because of that reason he is known as 'traveller poet'. The aforementioned miscellany of Belhî which we have been studying and analyzing has not been studied as a whole, but a part of it has been published in a publication in which the Turkish Divan is examined. In this study, the poet 's life, literary personality and works, as well as Persian and Turkish mathnawi and euology, which have not been subject to any academic studies before, are included. Key Words: Buhnâneddîn-i Balhî, miscellany, mathnawi, euology
