Place of Trabzon in Turkey's foreign trade economy

Foreign trade of Turkey which has not developed due to the economic policies until 1980, has been boosted by taking significant steps in the development of economy and foreign trade as well as industrialization policy depending on exports since 1980.The growth in economy with industrialization policies has influenced Trabzon's economy and increased foreign trade. This study was carried out in order to determine the socio-economic structure of Trabzon which is located in Eastern Black Sea region, and also to analyze the contributions of foreign trade to the country's economy and foreign trade.The structure of Turkey's foreign trade and economy, and socio-economic structure and foreign trade of Trabzon were analyzed depending on the data within the scope of this study. The contributions of Trabzon's economy to Turkey were also examined. The research was carried out by making use of the second data by searching the literature.This study reveals that depending on Theeconomicdevelopments in Turkeyafter 1980 influenced Trabzon and haveincreasedtheforeigntrade of theprovince. Within the scope of economic structure of Trabzon, the determinant sector is service industry. However, since 2001 industry has been determinant sector compared to agriculture sector. In terms of foreign trade of the province, export is higher compared to export. The most important factor effecting the higher export is climate and geographical formations which provides the continuation of tea and nut production amount and quality.
