As with many local styles in folk music, a performance style has emerged in the performance of Azerbaijani music as a result of the adaptation of melodies performed with different instruments to baglama. Commonly, these adaptations were taken from the folk instruments of Azerbaijan such as tar, kamancha, balaban, minstrel saz. When the rich musical structure and performance style of Azerbaijani works are adapted to baglama; emerging measuring models, rhythmic and melodic variations and nuances make a great contribution to the performance of baglama. The adaptation of 10 non-verbal works selected from the TRT repertoire into baglama and their performance analysis were made. The works have been re-notated according to the nuances and performance characteristics by making use of the video and audio recordings of the performers who are experts in the field of baglama. The performance analysis was carried out by determining the most used measuring models and nuances. The study started by examining academic studies, theses and articles on the characteristics and performance of Azerbaijani folk music Afterwards, the performance of Azerbaijani works with baglama was researched and personal interviews were held with experts.
