Abstract (EN)
In the studies carried out within the scope of civilization studies, travel writings take place in the literature as primary sources. Civilization changes in societies can be followed more closely based on observations and determinations in travel writings. In this study, which was conducted on selected travel writings of Turkish literature from 1886-1922, observations in travel texts related to East and West geographies were analyzed in chronological way. In the analysis, the observations and determinations of the travelers were classified according to certain headings and examined from a comparative perspective. The role of travel writings in the change of civilization has been evaluated from the travel texts of this period in which travels have increased in parallel with the modernization process developed in the Western perspective.
