Turkey's Middle East policy and relations with Israel (1923-1960)

The dream of the establishment of the Jewish state in the Middle East which came true by establishment of State of Israel as of 1948 caused a series of changes in the region. The foundations of the Israel state took place in the Palestine region. Therefore, the Palestinian people have deeply felt the impact of this process. Turkey is also deeply effected by this change in the region due to its historical ties with Middle East and geographical location. Consequently Turkey and Israel had always up sand down sin the bilateral political relations. In this study, it is examined the process toestablish a Jewish State, foundation of the State of Israel at 1948 which broughtdozen of changes in the region and response of Turkish Foreign Policy. This study consists of three parts. In the first part: the state building process of the Jews, its Dynamics and the developments are examined. Besidesas the developments emerged with the revival of Zionism and benefits of the British Manda in Palestine are mentioned. In the second part: it is sorted the Influencing factors of Turkish foreign policy in the Middle East from 1923 to 1950. In the third part it is addressed the establishment of Israel and the impact of this situation on Turkey is discussed. The formation, development and negativities of bilateral relations between Turkey and Israel are explained with details.
