Evaluation of the visual arts course in the distance education process according to the teacher's opinions

The Covid-19 pandemic, which is a global problem, has caused short-term disruption of education at all levels and remotely in our country as well as all over the world. As in all grade levels and courses in our country, the Visual Arts course was carried out in the form of distance education in this process. The advantages and disadvantages of the distance education process have been in the Visual Arts lesson, as in every lesson where distance education is applied. In the distance education process, the reflections of the advantageous and disadvantageous aspects of the Visual Arts course on the Visual Arts course in an objective way are examined in line with the interviews with the Visual Arts teachers. In this study, the positive and negative effects of distance education on the Visual Arts lesson were evaluated by taking the opinions of our secondary school Visual Arts teachers. Evaluating the Visual Arts course by taking the objective views of our Visual Arts teachers in the distance education process will ensure that the distance education process that may be encountered in the future will be more quality and efficient. Maximizing the efficiency of the Visual Arts course in the distance education process, which is a necessity today, will have great effects on the quality of the indispensable or preferably distance education that may occur in the coming years. The findings in the study consist of the opinions of our fifteen Visual Arts teachers in the secondary school affiliated to the Konya Provincial Directorate of National Education in the 2021-2022 academic year. Three of the fifteen participants were men and twelve were women. The online interviews were recorded and transcribed. Interview records are included in the findings section in written form. The information of our teachers is kept confidential and naming is done in the form of numbering. Interview questions are included in the appendices. According to the findings obtained at the end of the research, based on the course experiences of the majority of the Visual Arts course teachers interviewed in this process; We see that they stated that the Visual Arts course is not suitable for distance education and that some acquisitions and subjects cannot be adapted to distance education. Some of the Visual Arts teachers interviewed stated that distance education is suitable for the Visual Arts course, since there is no obligation to attend, the participation of the students who want and love the course increases the efficiency of the Visual Arts course, but they have problems in adapting some subjects. Subjects that were recorded in the meeting with our teachers, which could be adapted and what could not be adapted, were discussed in detail and recorded. In line with the findings obtained, it is thought that the acquisition and reorganization of the subjects by our expert teachers in the field of Visual Arts course according to the specified features will provide an advantage for the future. In the light of the arrangements made, it is aimed that the efficiency that can be obtained from the Visual Arts course will reach the maximum level.
