The role of meaning in life and lifestyles in predicting the perception of coping with trauma in adults

The aim of this study is to examine the role of belief in meaning in life and lifestyles in predicting the perception of coping with trauma in adults and their relationship with demographic characteristics such as gender, education level, age distribution and employment status. The research model was resolved as the relational screening model. The sample was resolved as adult individuals between the ages of 18-65 living in Turkey. Data were obtained by using the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher, "Childhood Trauma Experiences" scale, the "Scale of Coping with Trauma", the "Meaning in Life Scale" and the "Life Styles Inventory". The analysis of the obtained data was carried out with the SPSS 29.0.0.0 program. Analysis of the variables of gender and employment status was carried out with the T- test. Age distribution and educational status variables were performed with one-way analysis of variance ANOVA. The relationship between the perception of coping with trauma, belief in meaning in life and life styles variables was carried out with Pearson Correlation Analysis. Multiple Regression Analysis was carried out to analyze the level of predicting the perception of coping with trauma by the variables of meaning in life and lifestyles and their sub-dimensions. The findings of the study determined that there was a relationship between gender, employment status and education level, and the perception of coping with trauma. In addition, it was finalized that there is a significant relationship between the perception of coping with trauma, belief in meaning in life and lifestyles. Finally, it was concluded that belief in meaning in life and life styles and sub-dimensions of variables predict the perception of coping with trauma in adults.
