Abstract (EN)

In this study, the dose distributions which are planned by using the intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and volumetric arc therapy regulated (VMAT) techniques for study group with lung cancer is aimed to be compared with each other in terms of applicability. The IMRT and VMAT plans of 20 patients which are being treated in the Onchology clinic were prepared according to clinical protocols. Comparisons were made between the two treatment methods. For the plans which are made by using VMAT and IMRT techniques analyzes have been made by using Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test methods. As statistical significance degree, p≤0.05 was adopted. Consequently, when IMRT and VMAT conformality and homogeneity index values were compared, VMAT values has been determined to be higher. It was determined that both treatment methods can be used in the lung cancer cases.
